| The American Matchcover Collecting Club was conceived in 1986 by Bill Retskin , and dedicated to older matchcovers and match books. A publication, The Front Striker Bulletin, was started in August 1986, and ran for 57 quarterly issues, reaching, at its peak, an active membership of over 900 collectors. In 2001 the bulletin became an on-line entity. As an ever changing medium (with articles, features, store items, auctions and services being added all the time), the internet became the ideal platform for this club.
